I'm a huge fan of The Czars from way back, having felt like no one knew of them then, even buying my discs on ebay straight from the bassist. John Grant's voice has always been entrancing and beautiful to me, with hypnotizing and haunting lyrics. My favorite album, "Before....But Longer", which swept me up into many repeat listens, I recommended to many friends over the years. John Grant's voice is similar to, but better than, Brendan Perry of Dead Can Dance and Chris Isaak. I recently found myself craving to find out what he and The Czars were doing nowadays after hearing the absolutely amazing bands, Portrait Of David, and The White Birch ("Star Is Just A Sun") who's singer, Ola Fløttum also has a similar quality to his voice, though very different but extraordinary indie ambient music. All that brought me here. Just listened to the album on Spotify after reading this "Mojo Best Album of 2010" post. Now, I'm going to go pick it up! Thanks!

I loved every minute of this production , i left the theatre feeling elated and wishing i could dance .. it was wonderful the cast excellent and the ochestra played beautifully , I loved the film With Fred and Ginger but i must say i enjoyed the stage show so much more , thank you ..

This could be a great thing or a terrible thing. There's nothing wrong with the show the way it was originally devised and executed. Dare I say it's perfect. I'm nervous that he will change some things, namely the rise of the chandelier and it's fall at the end of the first act, and the design of the chandelier itself. I saw the revival version of Les Mis in February and was delighted at what was changed, but Phantom is no Les Mis, it's the mos successful piece of entertainment because it WORKS the way it is. It doesn't need adjusting.

Maybe she should also consider being a role model for her main fan base of teeny boppers and stop including explicit lyrics in her songs or stop appearing on children's TV shows such as Blue Peter.

hi, i went to school briefly with davids sister, he recently visted the school a few weeks back which i saw in the local newspaper. never knew he went on to do so well but always remember going round with a few others from school for tea and remembering how lovely his mum was! long time ago now.
